Lime is added to remove the glucose from the sawdust and to antiseptic the mixture. The resulting mass is mixed with cement and dries, forming wood concrete with high thermal insulation. Arbolit has numerous advantages, such as low flammability, non-toxicity, resistance to pests (wood sawdust in the composition of arbolit is devoid of glucose). Arbolit is ideally suited to the construction of dry timber, because it also does not shrink.
